The Emirates are one of the most popular destinations from Tashkent, and almost everyone travelling there for the first time asks about the visa. The good news is that the procedure for tourists is straightforward and doesn’t require a visit to the embassy. You just need to understand who arranges it and what to prepare.

Rules are given as of October 2026 and may change: check with our manager or the official embassy website before you travel.

Do You Need a Visa?

Citizens of Uzbekistan need a visa obtained before departure for a tourist trip to the UAE. The airline checks for it at check-in, and you won’t be allowed to board without one. So plan your application as soon as you’ve settled on your dates.

How a Tourist Visa Is Issued

The Emirates use a sponsorship system: the visa is issued to a tourist by a host registered in the UAE. In practice, the sponsor is one of the following:

  • the tour operator or travel agency you book your tour with;
  • the hotel where you book your stay (not all hotels offer this service);
  • the airline when you buy your ticket (some carriers offer this option).

The visa is issued electronically. You print it or save it on your phone and show it at check-in and at passport control.

Types of Visa

Tourist visas differ by length of stay and number of entries. There are single-entry visas for a short holiday, visas for longer stays and multiple-entry visas if you plan several trips. There are also separate transit visas for long layovers.

Which type suits you depends on the length of your trip and your plans. For a typical week-long holiday, a short-term single-entry visa is usually enough.

What Is Usually Required

The list of documents depends on the sponsor and current requirements, but it usually includes:

  • a colour scan of your passport’s photo page;
  • a colour photo on a light background;
  • your travel dates and accommodation details.

Sometimes additional information may be requested, for example about previous trips or the purpose of your visit. Your passport must remain valid for long enough after the end of the trip; check the requirement with our manager in advance, especially if your passport is close to expiry.

Why Visas Are Refused

The decision to issue a visa is made by the UAE authorities, and the agency cannot influence it. Refusals are possible, and reasons are not always given. To reduce the risk, provide accurate information, upload good-quality scans and, if the trip is urgent, avoid paying for non-refundable services until you have the visa.

Children, Families and Group Trips

A visa is issued for every traveller, including children and infants. If a child is travelling with one parent or with relatives, additional documents may be needed to leave Uzbekistan; it’s best to discuss this with our manager before buying the tour.

Processing Times and Cost

We deliberately don’t list fees or processing times: they depend on the visa type and sponsor and change from time to time. Our manager will give you the current terms for your dates when pricing your tour. The main advice is not to leave the application to the last few days, especially before public holidays.

What Else to Check Before You Travel

Besides the visa, arrange travel insurance and have your accommodation booking and tickets printed or on your phone. The full list of what to bring is in our pre-flight checklist. And if you’re still choosing dates, see our guide on the best time to visit the UAE.

If You’re Transiting

If the UAE is only a stopover and you don’t leave the airport’s transit area, a visa is usually not required. But for a long layover where you go into the city, a change of airport or separate tickets, you will need a visa. Check this when choosing your flights.
