Vietnam Visa for Citizens of Uzbekistan

Citizens of Uzbekistan generally need a visa to travel to Vietnam. The easiest option is an e-visa applied for online. Here's how it works and where people most often make mistakes.

  5. VBeware of intermediary sites that look like the official one

Travellers from Tashkent choose Vietnam for its warm sea, affordable holidays and fascinating food. For a smooth start to your trip, apply for the visa in advance and check it carefully. Below is the general process, without figures that change frequently.

Rules are given as of October 2026 and may change: check with our manager or the official embassy website before you travel.

Do You Need a Visa?

As a rule, citizens of Uzbekistan need a visa for a tourist trip. The main and most convenient option is an electronic visa (e-visa), applied for online. You can also apply through the Embassy of Vietnam, but this is rarely used for an ordinary holiday.

How to Apply for an E-Visa

The process looks like this:

  1. Prepare a scan of your passport’s photo page and a photo on a light background.
  2. Fill in the form on the official portal of Vietnam’s immigration department: personal details, travel dates, purpose and accommodation address.
  3. State your ports of entry and exit, meaning the airports you’ll arrive at and depart from.
  4. Pay the fee online.
  5. Wait for the decision and download your visa.

Pay attention to the visa type: it can be single or multiple entry. This matters if you plan to visit a neighbouring country and come back.

Where People Most Often Make Mistakes

  • Typos in your details. Your first name, surname, passport number and date of birth must match your passport letter for letter.
  • The wrong port of entry. If you’re flying to Phu Quoc but entered a different airport, there may be questions at the border.
  • An unsuitable photo. The photo must be clear, without a hat or glasses, on a light background.
  • An intermediary site. Search results are full of sites that look like the official one. They charge an extra fee and sometimes simply collect your data.

What You’re Usually Asked at the Border

The border officer checks your passport and visa. You may be asked about the purpose of your trip and where you’re staying, so keep your hotel booking and return ticket handy. Your passport must remain valid for long enough after entry; check the requirement with our manager if it’s close to expiry.

Processing Times and Cost

Fees and processing times are set by Vietnam and may change. We don’t list them here to avoid misleading you. Apply early, especially before public holidays, when the portal can be busy. Our manager will tell you the current terms for your dates.

Special Rules for Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc Island has historically had separate entry rules for foreigners flying there directly, without a domestic connection inside Vietnam. Whether these rules apply to you depends on your route and the regulations in force. Don’t rely on them without checking: ask our manager whether you need a visa in your particular case. More about the island on the Phu Quoc page.

Before You Fly

Make sure you have your visa (if required), hotel booking, tickets and travel insurance. If you haven’t settled on dates yet, see our guide on the best time to visit Vietnam: the climate in the south and centre of the country differs greatly.

Travelling with Children

A separate e-visa is issued for every traveller, including infants. A child must have their own passport. Children’s photos must also meet the requirements: no toys in the frame and the face fully visible.

If Your Route Includes Neighbouring Countries

If you plan to travel from Vietnam to Cambodia or Thailand and then come back, pay attention to the visa type. To re-enter, you’ll need a multiple-entry visa or a new visa. It’s best to plan such a route with our manager in advance.

If Your Trip Is Coming Up Soon

If there’s little time left before departure, don’t put off the application even by a day. Message our manager as soon as you’ve settled on your dates, and they’ll tell you whether there’s enough time to get the visa.
