Maldives Tours from Tashkent

In the Maldives the whole world shrinks to one island: white sand, a lagoon, a reef and a villa by the water. The key is choosing the right hotel.

Who the Maldives is for

The Maldives is a classic for honeymoons and anniversaries. Couples come here for a holiday without city noise or sightseeing, along with divers and snorkellers. There are also hotels for families with children, with kids’ clubs and gently sloping lagoons, but you need to choose more carefully.

If you want restaurants, shopping and a busy programme every day, the Maldives may feel boring. This is a holiday all about the sea, peace and good service. More ideas for newlyweds are in our selection of honeymoon destinations.

Seasons

High season runs from December to April: sunshine, a calm sea and good underwater visibility. The most expensive dates are New Year and the spring holidays, when hotels are booked several months ahead.

From May to November the south-west monsoon blows. The rain is usually short, but there are overcast days and waves. Hotels lower their prices at this time, and some atolls draw gatherings of manta rays and whale sharks. Details are in our guide on the best time to visit the Maldives.

How to choose an island and hotel

Resort islands

In the Maldives one hotel usually takes up a whole island. Pay attention to the house reef: if it is close to the shore, you can snorkel straight from your villa. A sandy lagoon without coral is easier for children and anyone who doesn’t like reefs.

Water villas and beach villas

A water villa is many people’s dream, but with small children a beach villa is more practical. A common choice is a combination: a few nights on the beach and a few over the water.

Meals and transfers

There are no cafés outside the hotel on the island, so the meal plan affects the final cost. The transfer can add up to a noticeable sum, especially by seaplane, so compare hotels with that in mind. Tips from our guide on how to choose a hotel will help you pick an island.

Malé and local islands

Malé is the capital on a tiny island with a fish market and the Friday Mosque. Local islands such as Maafushi are an option for a budget holiday with trips to sandbanks and reefs.

Things to do

  • Snorkelling on the house reef and trips out to manta rays and turtles.
  • Diving in the Ari and Baa atolls.
  • Sunset fishing and a dhoni cruise.
  • Dinner on a sandbank or in an underwater restaurant.
  • Spa and yoga for those who came to truly unwind.

Meal plans and budget

Since there are no other restaurants on the island, the meal plan matters more in the Maldives than anywhere else. Breakfast only suits those prepared to pay for lunch and dinner from the hotel menu. Half board and full board reduce costs, while all-inclusive pays off for those who enjoy drinks and don’t want to count every bill. Some hotels include excursions and snorkelling in the package.

The trip budget is made up of the flight, hotel, meals and transfer, so compare options by the total rather than just the room rate. Our manager will show you the full cost with everything included.

How many days to plan

7–10 nights is ideal. If you are heading to a distant atoll, part of the first and last day will go on travel. If you want to stay at two hotels, plan at least 10 nights.

Entry and rules

The Maldives issues a visa on arrival to tourists of all countries, usually for 30 days. You need a passport with plenty of validity left, a hotel booking and a return ticket, and a few days before departure you fill in an online declaration. Bringing in alcohol and pork is forbidden, and luggage is checked at the airport.

Rules are given as of October 2026 and may change: check with our manager or the official embassy website before you travel.

FAQ

Do citizens of Uzbekistan need a visa for the Maldives?

The Maldives issues a tourist visa on arrival to citizens of all countries, usually for 30 days, if you have a hotel booking, a return ticket and a passport with plenty of validity left. Before departure you also fill in an online traveller declaration.

When is the best time to go to the Maldives?

The dry, sunny season runs from December to April and is the most popular time. From May to November there can be downpours and wind, but the rain is usually short and hotels are cheaper.

What is a local island?

It is an inhabited island with local residents and small guesthouses. A holiday there is cheaper, but local rules apply: swimwear only on a special tourist beach, and no alcohol on sale.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Depending on the island, by speedboat, seaplane or a domestic flight plus a boat. Seaplanes only fly in daylight, so with a late arrival you sometimes need a night in Malé.

How many days should I spend in the Maldives?

People usually take 7–10 nights. Less than a week isn't worth it given the long journey and the cost of the transfer.
