You want your honeymoon to be unforgettable, but the choice often comes down to the wedding date and the budget. Here are options for different seasons and travel styles.

highlights
Every couple has its own idea of the perfect honeymoon. Some want an overwater villa and complete silence, others want new cities, great food and late-night walks. So rather than starting from a list of popular countries, start by answering one question: how do you want to spend your days?
How much time off you have after the wedding and the time of year also matter, since they determine which countries are in season.
The honeymoon classic. A private island, a villa over the water or on the beach, snorkelling on the house reef, dinner on the sand. Life here moves slowly, which makes it ideal for couples worn out by wedding preparations who simply want time together. The dry season runs roughly from December to April; more in our guide on the best time to visit the Maldives.
Keep in mind that the total cost is made up of the villa, meals and transfer, and varies a lot depending on the island.
Bali suits couples who want more variety: you can spend a few days in Ubud among the jungle and rice terraces, then move to the ocean. There are plenty of villas with private pools, romantic restaurants and spas. The dry season runs roughly from April to October.
Warm sea in winter, islands, affordable spas and excellent food. Phuket with its hillside villas, Koh Samui and Phu Quoc are all great for a honeymoon. They suit couples who want both to relax and to explore the surroundings.
If your time off is short and you don’t want a long flight, Turkey and the UAE are convenient options. In summer Turkey has many adults-only hotels with a quiet atmosphere. You can also combine Istanbul and Cappadocia with a hot-air balloon flight. The Emirates are best in the cooler season: the sea, restaurants with a view, the desert.
For couples who love cities: Paris, Rome, Prague, Barcelona. Spring and autumn are comfortable for walking, and in winter you can catch the Christmas markets. Travel to Schengen countries requires a visa arranged in advance.
A nearby destination with a warm atmosphere. Tbilisi with its old town and restaurants, the wineries of Kakheti, the sea in Batumi. A good choice if you want a trip without long flights. More on the Georgia page.
If you want both a city and the sea, you can build a two-part route. For example, Istanbul and a beach resort in southern Turkey, Bangkok and Phuket, Dubai and the Maldives, Tbilisi and Batumi. The first part brings experiences, the second brings rest. The key is to keep it to one or two transfers so you don’t spend your days on the road.
It helps to set an overall budget for the trip from the start. Our manager will show you where it’s best spent: a villa with a pool, a more distant destination or a few highlights such as a beach dinner or a hot-air balloon flight.

In winter the Maldives, Thailand, Sri Lanka, southern Vietnam and the UAE are great choices, with a dry, warm season. For romantic city breaks, consider Europe with its Christmas markets.
In summer Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Cyprus or Georgia are convenient. The weather in Bali is also good in summer.
Most often 7–12 nights. For long-haul destinations like the Maldives and Bali, plan at least a week; for Turkey or the UAE, 5–7 nights is enough.
Many hotels offer honeymoon extras: room decoration, a cake, a dinner or a room upgrade subject to availability. Each hotel has its own terms, and you usually need to confirm your wedding date.

In the Maldives the whole world shrinks to one island: white sand, a lagoon, a reef and a villa by the water. The key is choosing the right hotel.

Bali combines ocean beaches, jungle with waterfalls and Hindu culture. The island is big and varied, so the key is choosing the right area for the kind of holiday you want.

Georgia is close to home, with mountains, the sea, wine and food that keeps people coming back. It works for a long weekend and for a packed week alike.

The Maldives are warm all year round and the sea is always warm. The difference between seasons lies in rainfall, wind and prices, and it's worth understanding before you book a villa.
