Who Qatar is for

Qatar suits those who value a calm, safe and modern holiday. Couples and families come for a few days, as do museum and architecture lovers and anyone curious about the Middle East who doesn’t want a noisy resort. For many, Qatar is a stopover on the way to Europe or Asia that makes them want to come back.

Qatar is a conservative Muslim country with halal food and mosques everywhere, so travellers from Uzbekistan find everything familiar and comfortable.

Seasons: when to go

The best time is November to March. Days are warm, around 22–28 degrees, and evenings are mild, perfect for walking along the waterfront and trips to the desert. In December and January the evenings can be cool and the sea cools down.

From May to September the heat reaches 45 degrees and it is humid. The city keeps going, as malls and museums are air-conditioned, but walks and safaris become hard work. If you want the sea specifically in the colder months, compare Qatar with the options in where to go for a winter beach holiday.

Doha and around

Central Doha

Doha is the country’s main and almost only city. The several-kilometre Corniche links the main sights: the Museum of Islamic Art with views of the West Bay skyscrapers, the National Museum shaped like a desert rose, and Souq Waqif with its falcon market.

The Pearl-Qatar and Lusail

An artificial island with yachts, restaurants and the Venetian-style Qanat Quartier. Next to it is the new city of Lusail with a large stadium, boulevards and malls.

Katara Cultural Village

A district with an amphitheatre, galleries, mosques and a beach. A good place for an evening stroll.

The desert and the north

Khor Al Adaid is an inland sea in the south, reached by 4x4 across the dunes. In the north are the old Zubarah Fort, abandoned fishing villages and the Al Thakira mangroves.

What to see

  • The Museum of Islamic Art and the park around it.
  • The National Museum of Qatar.
  • Souq Waqif in the evening.
  • A sunset safari to Khor Al Adaid.
  • A ride on a traditional dhow along the Corniche.

Food and things to do

Qatari food is similar to Arab cuisine in general: machboos (rice with meat and spices), harees, hummus and fresh tandoor bread. Souq Waqif has many restaurants serving Lebanese, Iranian and Yemeni food, while West Bay and the Pearl have international restaurants.

For children, Doha has indoor amusement parks in the malls, a water park, a zoo and the large Aspire Park. Adults enjoy the falcon market, the Arabian horse stables and the museums. Many hotels offer beach clubs where you can spend a day by the sea even if you are staying in the city.

How many days to plan

3–4 days is enough to get to know Doha. Plan five to seven nights if you want to add a beach stay at a resort hotel and take it slow. A popular combination is a week across two countries: Qatar and the UAE, for example 3 days in Doha and 4 days in Dubai.

Entry and practical tips

Entry for citizens of Uzbekistan depends on Qatar’s current rules, so check the visa type and length of stay before booking. Your passport needs plenty of validity left, and at the border you may be asked for a hotel booking and a return ticket.

Dress modestly in public places, with shoulders and knees covered; there are fewer restrictions on hotel beaches. Alcohol is sold only in licensed hotels.

Rules are given as of October 2026 and may change: check with our manager or the official embassy website before you travel.

FAQ

Do citizens of Uzbekistan need a visa for Qatar?

Entry to Qatar for citizens of Uzbekistan depends on the current rules: some countries enter visa-free, while others apply for a visa online. Our manager will check the current procedure before booking.

How many days do I need for Qatar?

For Doha with its museums, the market and a safari, 3–4 days is enough. If you want a beach holiday at a resort hotel, plan 5–7 nights.

Can I have a beach holiday in Qatar?

Yes, there are resort hotels with beaches near Doha and along the coast, and the sea is warm for most of the year. But Qatar is more of a city destination: the beach complements the museums and walks.
